This morning’s practice was a perfect example about how you really can change your mood, your body and your mental state by taking a few intentional moments to focus, breathe and come to the mat with the intention to feel different than when you arrived. It’s all going to be OK.

I woke up at about 3 am with a toothache, but even with that going on, I probably got the best night’s sleep I have in a week. I work up a bit groggy, but that’s just how I ease my way into the land of the living. I sat up at the edge of the bed staring blankly for a few moments, grabbed my yoga bag and headed out the door.
The space where I usually do yogas was compromised this morning by my sleepily spilling half of my water bottle on the floor. I mopped up the area and moved on to one of the other shower rooms. It wasn’t ideal a bit smaller space, and I was still a bit anxious about my tooth but I rolled out my mat just the same.

I knew this class was going to be tough. But I also knew it was only 23 minutes. I can endure anything for 23 minutes can’t I??
If you’re doing classes on DoYogaWithMe.com and have taken one of Fiji’s classes you may have noticed she’s a bit more militant than the other instructors. Maybe I’m just a wuss. But also, maybe it was just what I needed because I had my hoodie off almost immediately, and I feel great now!
I’ve got a ton of energy, lots of mental clarity and ready to get into a 50/50 chill and hustle day. I find that if I work straight through the weekend, I’ve got nothing left by the time Monday rolls around, and that’s exactly when clients come knocking.

I’m anticipating soreness tomorrow but I’ll defer that issue to Monday Dayle. She’ll sort that out with some tart cherry capsules coming in the post. I’ve been reading they’re great for workout recovery and to help with soreness, inflamed joints and help you sleep better. Let me know what you’re doing - if anything, for muscle recovery and soreness if you’re doing this challenge with us. I’d love to learn about some more natural alternatives.

Weird. The first thing that came to mind when I laid down on the mat for Shavasana was the image of a Ladybug. One specific Ladybug I’ll never forget finding as a kid. I swear to you it was gold instead of red. Is that even a thing?? I’m going to have to do some research on that…

Apparently it’s a thing!… now what does it MEANNNNN!!!
