Well, the simple answer is no, and YES! I finished practicing. I finished when I felt like I had gotten a complete full-body workout, when my lungs felt open and my joints and ligaments felt loose, instead of their usual locked up feeling, complete with the range of motion of the crypt keeper.

I stopped when it felt right, (yes more 80% rule) which was about 3/4 through the practice. But did I mention this was an INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED class!!? WHAT!? I really can't believe I got as far as I did. In my days of guilt and self-lothing fueled exercise I probably would have pushed myself to finish and then not been able to walk for the next three days, but today I finished feeling like I could roundhouse kick a t-rex in the face while surfing on pure lightning.

I really dragged my feet to get on the mat today because I was bracing for the disappointment of not being able to do this class, the label scared the hell out of me. I was prepping to feel deflated and frustrated, and so I didn't get down to my little yoga spot until about 1 PM.
At this point in the afternoon I'm usually hitting a wall mentally, cranking out another cup of coffee and getting snacky, but I'm feeling pretty damn energized at the moment- (if you couldn't tell from the t-rex comment)!

Lesson learned! Don't always judge a class by its length, or instructor or its difficulty level. Every practice is unique because it's the amalgamation of your head state, bodily state and about a million environmental variables around you when you get to the mat.
When I got up from Shavasana, I had the thought. I think I could do that whole class in a few months...
Goal set.
