Why good morning you! I’m not quite sure why I’m in such a great mood today other than the fact that IT’S SNOWINGGGG!!
(And I had an awesome photo session with @teamhumble ’s “mini-mouser“ in the snow modeling my first arm knit scarf!)
Last night we got dumped on quite a bit for the UK! I really didn’t think I’d see much more than a light dusting here and there this winter, but when the 7:30 yoga alarm went off, and I opened the door, all I could see was white in every direction.

OBVIOUSLY, I bolted out into the elements without hesitation. I know I complain about being cold, but the snow really activates me. Maybe it’s because I’m a winter baby, being born in February. I remember SO many birthdays getting snowed out. And the 2 or 3 friends who could make it to my house in the mountains of NJ just went sledding with me. No complaints here!
Anyway, I found a little laundry room here on site, that my mat just barely fits in when I lay it diagonally, and I started todays 50 minute practice. The instructor Krista is a complete fruit loop, but in the best way, so even though this class was long, it felt really good. The pacing was perfect for me, and hip opening practices have to be some of my absolute favorite classes.
I’ve done quite a bit of research about the psoas muscle groupings and how they relate to how we store stress, trauma and anxiety, and let me tell you, if you’re someone who struggles with panic attacks, anxiety or even sits at a desk a lot, this is the class for you. It’s fun, lighthearted and really warmed up my creaky joints that had frozen over night along with the landscape!

Shavasana time has been a bit tough just because I’m so concerned about the space i’m taking up in this little room. I don’t want to be a trouble for anyone, but it’s the only place I can practice with a roof under my head in these sub zero temperatures. So mystical thoughts today, just a few deep breaths with my eyes closed. I’m thinking an idea may be to take shavasana back in the van all warm and cozy in bed when I’m finished so I can actually focus on meditating.
