Good morning friends! It’s a cold one out there! We’ve got heat again (thank heavens, or more appropriately, THANK DAEWOO!) so it was a toasty night and and early-ish morning for Dayleeo, up and out for Day 1 of our #yogachallenge!

Today is my first attempt at the intermediate level challenge on DoYogaWithMe.com. And while that’s intimidating physically, I didn’t quite realize what a challenge it would be mentally. I’m realizing that this is going to be a HUGE practice in listening to my body, not overdoing it, and most importantly accepting where I’m at, (and where I’m not) physically.
It’s not that I live in a diluted state about my physical fitness. I know I have a long way to go in order to be the version of myself that does my hopes, dreams and aspirations justice. The version that could give all those things a fair shot. I guess if anything, we’re all too often reminded of our physical shortcomings on a day to day, so not being able to fully "crush" Day 1 felt a little discouraging.
Instead, I’m going to take it as an invitation, to practice listening to my body and to be easy on myself in the process, instead of getting down on myself about it. To show myself the same care, patience, and understanding I’d show to someone I love.

This is where I usually write anything that comes to mind during final meditation or Shavasana. Today didn’t feel very Zen. But that's ok. I know not all of them will. I really just felt all of the cold places my body was touching the floor. I had a few good deep breaths though, and overall I finished feeling really good.
