Hello blockchain my old friend. I’ve come to talk to you again
It’s been a bit tough for me to write lately (although I’ve been chipping away at other, larger posts.) it’s usually nothing a good breakfast, good company and a day out with fresh air can’t reset.

Yesterday we decided to head into town, catch the early-ish bus and have breakfast at one of our go-t0 spots. No, I didn’t get a photo this time but if you’ve been following along, I’m sure you know exactly what I went for. Vegetarian breakfast, 2 eggs, veggie sausage, hash-browns, beans and mushrooms. Straight up fuel. We knew we’d likely be doing about 10k steps during our time out and about so some fuel was needed!

we stumbled upon an e-charging station in town yesterday, we're working every day toward survival and vanlife <3

It’s been a bit of a logistics week so far if I’m honest. Which is possibly why that creative energy took a back seat. I’ve been in revision purgatory with a client all week and @teamhumble has been in hustle mode as well. BUT on the bright side, I was assigned a new title to record for the kid’s book publisher I do VO work for! I recorded two takes on Tuesday night when things in van-landia are DEAD quiet.

Yesss
.

If I can keep my energy up throughout the day to about 7 or 8 at night it’s absolutely perfect to record here. Two takes, straight through. In and out. I’ll spend the rest of the time today editing out mistakes, and placing 2 second spaces between page breaks, per the client’s specifications, and we’re ready to deliver. Really love doing the VO work, and I’ve gotten some great feedback from these guys once I got the hang of the tone and speed they wanted for the kids.

So back to yesterday. It was a lovely morning, a little chilly, we took a long loop through the park around the outer edge of town and back in, stopped in a few shops just to look at the Christmas stuff. If I’m being honest, we were definitely tempted by a few ridiculous sweaters. But, no matter what the retail marketers say, it’s still November. And there’s still work to be done
 so we abstained.

Christmas is certainly a time where I feel the shrewd practically-minded and utilitarian side of my brain in a tug of war with the “Oooh! But-this-sweater has-blinky-lights!!!!” part of my brain.

I know full-well that there is no practical purpose for decorations, silly sweaters, and all of the extra-ness that comes with this time of year. And I know a bit of that feeling is my equal and opposite reaction to the barrage of Christmas-everything being shoved in your face the day after Halloween.

The pressure to deliver isn’t just on Santa this time of year. It comes from seemingly every direction this time of year. I remember how stressed I used to get December time. Sorting presents, making foods, running all over creation to parties and gatherings. And the sad part is, I really love all those things.

I LOVE giving gifts, even for no reason. It’s no secret that I love cooking for people I care about, and warm cozy gatherings with good folks and good drink? I’m here for it. But that pressure of obligation, and of it never being “enough” always left me stressed, worn out and just wishing the whole thing was over.

This year I’m thankful to be away from it all with @teamhumble. I’m sure we’ll do a little something, but we’ll participate in Christmas on our own terms, in a way that works for us and doesn’t trigger any of that stress.

If all Christmas is this year, is a bunch of movies in bed with Stilton and a cheap bottle of red, that’s fine by me. Actually, that sounds perfect

Ooh!
and Hot Chocolate! Yessss!

Yesterday around 3pm we got back to van-landia, and our little workhorse of a heater, finally bit the dust. In fairness, we knew it was on it’s way out for a long time and thankfully, through the wonders of Amazon, we have another coming tomorrow. So we’re the Team-Humble-Bundle club last night and today with, layers, hats, blankets and soups.

With everything going on at the moment, the 30 day yoga challenge feels pretty daunting but I’m going to give it my best. If you’ve joined us in Discord this week- welcome! I’m a bit behind on greeting everyone but make yourself at home and pop into # the-yoga-room for daily updates.

If you’ve got no clue what I’m talking about, this post should help clear things up! :) If you’re new to Yoga, this challenge is the perfect entry-point so I really encourage you to join us if you're interested.

It’s been a tough few weeks since Steemfest, friends. We’re both trying our best to hold things together and to not fall too far behind, but being pulled and pressured from so many logistics needing your attention all the time, takes it’s toll. Still we are here, still we are working, and doing the best we can.

I hope this Thursday is kind to you,
<3 Dayleeo
