Sorry about that, I just had to take a minute to enjoy that. Without boring you with the details, it's been a tough few years, but then again I feel like I say that about every few years, maybe life is just tough.
These most recent two especially though, I kinda uprooted my life, lived overseas, now living back overseas (on the wrong side). Work was slow, finances were tighter than a swimsuit on a rhino. The whole year was a total hard reset.
Still living out of a suitcase, still on a shoestring budget, but now I've got a paid off car and I'm completely out of debt.
What does this mean?
I'm not too sure, I mean, I know it means I have options now, which is huge, can invest in cryptos, and get myself out of a jam if an emergency arises, but more than that what it means to me is that I set a goal, and I achieved it.
I brought in a meager (but enough to sustain) income, on my terms, working for myself, and working at my own (admittedly sometimes breakneck) pace.
I walked a zillion dogs...
stayed in houses in the dead of winter with no heat...
I worked long hours, and sometimes got stressed and cried and spent way too much time sitting in front of a screen,
But I also learned and adapted! I changed my relationship with food,
I got (and I'm still getting) more physically fit each day,
and eventually, the pressure cooker became an empowerment engine!
ooh girl you better go ahead with that "I-just-paid-my-credit-card-get-me-on-a-freaking-Wheaties-box-IMMEDIATELY" pose!!!
I feel like this kid...
I want to share a post about exactly how I make my incomes for anyone interested, a lot of it is through jobs on Upwork, and although they take a cut (gotta pay the piper) it's allowed me the one thing no boss has ever allowed me, my freedom, to travel, to work when and where I wanted, and to sometimes not work.
Someone once told me, "You work to live, you don't live to work."
You are not a robot. You are not a vending machine. "Bend until you break" (and boy will you break) is no way to live my friends. Although I'm still on my independent work journey and I've got a long way to go I really want to give back to this community of fellow weirdos who have welcomed me into their respective corners of the blockchain so if you have any questions, let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for listening,
Going to do a happy dance now...
