Good frosty morning Steem-landia! Today I come to you with a fast an easy & sustainability-focused DIY that you can do anytime and anywhere, provided your fingers aren't frozen solid in this weather.

Chunky bracelets from t-shirts!!? It's true I swear...

This also makes a fun craft for kids bored to tears with the power out, or on winter break... so! Grab an old tee and a pair of scissors and let's go!

Today we took a BRISK walk to the local Forestry Center to shoot this tutorial for you, but not without stopping for hot chocolate. Although you can make tee shirt bracelets without hot chocolate, it's HIGHLY recommended that you do not skip this step. ;)

First you'll want to break your shirt down into raw fabric, cut away any seams, edges, sleves, that kinda thing, chop away!

Next you're going to cut your shirt into strips, I'd say 3/4 inch strips. But you can certainly experiment with thicker ones, just try to keep them uniform.

Once you have your strips you're going to want to connect them in order to create one mega strip. Basically we're turning our shirt into a ball of "yarn" we can finger-weave with.

Make a small incision in the end of each of your strips by folding them in half and making a tiny cut... Next you'll thread one strip through the hole in it's new neighbor...

And double it back over itself, threading its own tail through its own slit...

Give it a nice tug, to make the knot as small as you can without ripping it apart, now repeat this until all of your strips are conjoined. At this point you can wind the whole thing into a ball and you're set to weave on the go!

Here's where things get fun... I'm thinking a gif is worth a thousand words in this case so I'm going to just leave these here for you with minimal explanation...

First is the loopy bit..

Then back around...

Over under... Over under

And repeat!!

Don't forget about your hot chcolate in the throes of thrilling finger weaving fun and deep concentration like I did!

When you like the legnth of your little rope, gather all of the loops off of your fingers and bunch them together so you can thread the tail of your yarn through and tie a knot.

You can loop it through again if you feel like you need super reinforcement but just once should do...

The coolest thing about this project is you can make your bracelet as slim or as chunky or you like... the image above is using only 2 fingers instead of the three shown in the gifs from earlier, you can even do 4 for a SUPER MEGA CUFF!! - the world is yours to tangle your digits with! Have fun and experiment with the look you like best!

Then fuss around on a freezing cold and wet bench with your finished piece so you can take photos for steemit... ;)

Yes Yes I know, I have a shining wrist modeling career ahead of me, you're not the first to say that. When you've got it, you've got it I guess ;)

I hope you enjoyed this little Sunday Funday DIY tutorial! If you're interested in other ways you can distroy, er... um... I mean REINVENT and old tee, you can also use them to make an awesome gym or tote bag...
