Funny enough, I just glanced past the blank page on my computer’s screen to check in at the time before I started writing to you, and I saw the digital clock change from 10:00 to 10;01. Doesn’t SEEING time move like that light a fire under your ass? It does mine.
Other than that, we don’t really have many other indicators of the passage of time. Sure the sun travels across the sky from east to west but on the minute, or even seconds level, we don’t really have a way to sense time.
When that 10:00 flipped to 10;01 it was like the starting bell… READY… FIGHT!.
Today we’re heading into town to pick up @teamhumble’s new green screen. Internet says the weather is supposed to be beautiful today! YAY! Pretty excited to get out, stretch the legs and get the fresh air and sunshine before the next bout of full-on-winter-ice-scape swoops in. And maybe the Photo-gods will bless me with a few good shots I can share in a walkwithme!
We’re not leaving for another hour or so, so I’m about to open Slack and see what freelance horrors await me there…
Ok I’m being dramatic. These clients have been really great over the year or so I’ve been working with them, but damn do they fly by the seat of their pants. For example, some print work I delivered along with mockups over a month ago, has now been sent back to me because the manufacturer told them it wasn’t the right size, for the product. Just a lot of back-to-fronts-manship and of course it always comes down the very VERY last minute. I guess that’s just how startups run…
More than anything I'm thankful that I don't have to be a part of that daily-office life. As much as I like to be able to accommodate and be there for clients, in an hour or so I'm heading out the door to spend some nice time outside, and there ain't a damn thing anyone can do about it ;)
In 2018, I’d love for the ratios of client time and steemit time to start shifting away from client time and more to steemit time, we’ll get there I know it. I really like it here :) It makes me really happy to be able to post some words, some thoughts and some stories out of the blockchain. I still can’t believe that we get paid as well… Damn thankful to have found the steemiverse.
