#SteemitPhotoChallenge is something @teamhumble encouraged me to participate in from day one so when I found out that this week's theme was "Nature Macro" I knew exactly what I wanted to share...

ENTRY #01 Bumble Bee on Flowers | photo taken with iPhone6plus & edited with VSCOCAM
I noticed this little guy having breakfast one morning walk to the nearby shop last summer in the Midlands (UK). I've known so many to flip out and swat frantically at any sight of these guys, and maybe it's because I've never been stung, but I've got zero fear of them. I've even had one land on my shoulder, chill a few seconds, and be on his merry way.
In my experience, creatures are energy reflectors and unlike us humans, they're usually not looking for a fight. I respect them and they honor that respect by not injecting venom into my skin. Seems a pretty fair trade if you ask me.

Another thing I realized while writing this post is that Steemit is the perfect place to share one of my favorite videos from this past spring, I believe it was Easter Sunday, in fact I was on my way out the door and the most stunning, and gigantic carpenter bee was just hanging out by my car, I came up to him to say hello and he put on the most stunning show, which I filmed edited and uploaded to Instagram.
I was never fully happy with the Instagram version because the music track I wanted to use got flagged by their content detection software. There are few worse feelings than not being able to share your complete creative vision of a project. But I guess copyrights and stuff right? I mean SOMEONE'S got to look out for multi billion dollar record labels amirite? ;)
Here's the version of the video I always wanted to share and the caption I wrote along with it:
ORIGINAL CAPTION: Today on my way out the door I ran into a HUGE bumble bee. At first, neither of us knew what do to, both assessing the possible danger to our respective persons but I couldn't do anything but stare at him hovering in the air in Neo-Like bullet time and I swear he was just as interested in checking out what I was all about. (There's a moment in the video where he turns his head and looks at me- it's crazy) Am I claiming to have had a spiritual connection with a Bee today? Possibly. All I know is I took out my camera and he put on a show. 💕
I really hope I get to have a little honey making hive one day. I've always wanted to keep bees and now that bee populations are in trouble I'm more motivated to do it than ever. Bees keep finding their way into my life and creative projects (even @teamhumble started his project Apiary Haus before we ever met, crazy). I'm sure there's a mystical cat reason that my mystical cat brain will be happy with out there in the cosmos, but for now, I'm happy to appreciate the beauty of the bee and share it with others when I can.
Thanks for buzzing by!
(ew Dayle, really??)
