Well hello there—-ever have one of those mornings that doesn’t quite go to plan?
Welcome to the morning of @dayleeo an @temhumble. After ignoring her 7 am alarm a sleepy Dayleeo arose from her slumber, stumbled out the door of the van and set off to do her daily yoga. She returned, heart pumping and eyes wide awake from a lovely workout which was hard but not too exhausting.
She and teamhumble set off not long after to head into town by bus to sort out the last of Christmas prep and grab any last supplies they'd need before bunkering down for the holidays...
Little did they know that the ATM near the bus stop, which was in fact, the only ATM in the village, would be out of order, and since they needed cash to buy bus tickets, they soon realized they would not be taking the bus, but in fact- theyd be walking into town.
Now, Dayleeo and Teamhumble are no stranger to walking, in fact they try to get at least 5-10k steps a day, but this walk would be no small feat.
As with most things in life, and actually with life itself, they probably would not have set out on the journey had they known how difficult it would be. This scenario was no diferent but alas, with the sun at their backs and doing their best to stay optimistic about salvaging their day... they began.
They received a smile and a few odd looks from morning cyclists...
But mostly it was just them, the open road and the open skies...
The scenery changed as though they were on some kind of futuristic treadmill simulation...
And Dayleeo tried her best to capture the beauty, and not think about how much more road was ahead of them...
Or the fact that the sun was making its way to the center of the sky and warming up the road, along with our travellers...
for dramatic effect, please imagine some western film's high-noon standoff music here....
Our brave adventurers continued on, one foot after the other, and then the next and the next, with determination in their hearts and visions of breakfast on their minds...
Remember that one scene at the end of Castaway...
Time was not on their side, but still, Dayleeo stopped to take pictures...
Soon the scenery would change from country lanes... to the suburbs, they knew it wouldn't be long now...
The weary travelers were soon greeted by a neighborhood embassador, who wished them safe passage through the next leg of their journey... and offered the finest of purrs to keep them encouraged...
Several swans and ducks (not shown here) also offered their well wishes, but they prefered to remain anonymous to the blockchain... birds right??
Another path...
and another bridge....
But sooner or later...
They arrived at their destination! -- breakfasts were ordered, coffees were sipped and most importantly seats were sat on!
According to biometric fitbit data, they had done nearly 12k steps, all before 11 am, and they'd finish out the day with...
I hope you enjoyed this little tale. It was hard work, and I'm still even a bit sore two days later, but overall we both feel better for it. The moral of the story (as my very Italian family has always said) is ALWAYS HAVE CASH, and look on the bright side. At least I got to turn our misfortune into a little story for you.
Hey it could have been raining right?
Until Next Time!
