Oh, hey March. Greeting you this morning feels like awkwardly running into an ex. I’m not ready for it, not in the mood for it and don’t have time for it. But here we are…

I worked really hard last month to get all of my goals done, and as you can see I left two on the table… so lets talk about those.

We’ve made big strides on the wellness project, and even ordered t-shirts that we’re waiting on (dedicated t-shirt post shortly) but time just ran out on this one for February. There’s also an element that needs to be filmed outside, and our little abode is currently being swallowed up by a blizzard. Hopefully signs of spring will show up after this week and we can chip away at it more.

Now, let's talk about my now deactivated website HeyDayle.com Updating my portfolio site and paying the yearly renewal is something that I found myself really putting off this month, and around last week it occurred to me why…

I don’t want a website anymore.

Aside from the hosting fees, and the time spent maintaining it, what exactly does it serve me?

Legitimacy as a freelancer?

  • Funy enough, last June I was awarded “Top Rated” freelancer on Upwork with a fancy badge next to my name. If having a website is a dealbreaker for wanting to work with me, it probably wouldn’t work out between us anyway.

A portfolio of my work?

  • Sure I guess it would be nice to have a visual representation some of the things I’ve worked on, but one of my goals was to work LESS for clients who pull me in a million directions this year and to focus on residuals and passive income streams.

Contact information?

  • Am I really prepared to pay nearly $200 a year (between hosting and domain) for a digital business card?? Aside from being hundreds of steemit posts deep (almost all of which have my social contact info at the bottom) I’m @Dayleeo almost everywhere. My profiles are all public, and my DMs aren’t blocked. It’s REALLY not that hard to reach me.

With that said, I’m deviously plotting solution for that as we speak….. (one of todays goals, will share soon!)

Yesterday a client excitedly reported to me that one of the products I designed on for them had been mentioned by Kourtney Kardashian as one of her “faves” on her blog. Kinda strange to think that something that I designed in a van in the middle of a field, is in this huge mansion somewhere, and is now in demand because it a “famous person” endorsed it, but other than that, all I could think of is… “Damn, I need to raise my rates!“

Yes I’ve edited the photo because I’m SO tired with the internet’s obsession with buts.- Also, I looked this post up on my own, and it’s behind a paywall LOL.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts. I really love being a part of steemit. Even though I’ve been freelancing on and off for nearly 10 years, blogging here is the first time I’ve ever truly felt like my own boss. No one to answer to, or be worried about. My creative expression can take any form it needs to, and with @dsound, @dlive and @dtube. Nearly any medium I choose to create in, can be shared with the blockchain and if folks find it valuable, it has value. Simple.

I love the term Proof Of Brain by the way. I feel like I’ve been working to show folks proof of my brain my whole life. So, nothing new there….

SO here we go March. I’m planning to put just as much effort into you as I did February, although this morning I’m not feeling as stoked about you. Maybe it’s the fact that in the night we were transported to SIBERIA!!!

Maybe I didn’t sleep so great, maybe I worked too many hours yesterday, maybe I'm just feeling grumpy don’t want to analyze it it anymore. We’re here, we have coffee. Time to start fresh and try again. Deep breath! Here we go!
