Today’s #thursdaygreen is actually a little project from my old food blog's recipe on instant iced green tea with matcha ice cubes!

For the main bit of the tutorial I used regular old square cubes but I couldn’t resist using these R2D2 ice molds a friend had given me ages ago.

I used a bunch of different shapes but R2 came out to be my absolute favorite. If you’ve got some matcha powder lying around I highly suggest you try out some matcha cubes they’re awesome added to water, almond milk (for an iced green tea latte) or in morning smoothies for an extra little energy boost.

And hey, I’m not above giving you a recipe for ice!

Ingredients

  • Warm Water: 1 Cup
  • Matcha Powder: 1/2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wisk matcha powder into warm water and pour into ice trays.
  2. Freeze for 2+ hours or overnight.
  3. Use 1-2 cubes per glass of water depending on your tastes or add to smoothies!

OPTIONAL: You can also add a bit of extra love like honey or agave as well during the warm water mixing phase, (before you add the matcha) if you've got a sweet tooth!

Enjoy & Happy Thursday Everyone!
