Remember how we'd drool over this van from up in the cafe across the street? Damn, I miss a good Engigh breakfast. single tear

Well my love, here we are again, at the end of another day. Tomorrow is August 14th. How..?

I had a pretty relaxing end to the day, cleaned the kitchen from the lasagna whirlwind aftermath I had made, tidied up the living quarters and been in bed catching up on youtubes.

Like cooking a big dish like that so I know I have dinners for the week. Uses fewer brain cycles to just have something ready to go that I know is healthy and cost me pennies to put together. :)

Funny thing happened just now actually, Dad stopped me leaving the bathroom from my nightly face washing ritual because he had found these!

My first car!- funny we were just talking about our favorite cars the other day weren't we?

Oh man did I love that car. The steering had this taut springy tension that made it feel sporty as hell. V6 engine, black leather seats, power everything. That car was my 17 year old spirit animal. And I drove it as carefree and wreckless as I was, usually blasting Smashing Pumpkins or Run DMC or the Ska Band I was really into, Five Iron Frenzy.

LOLZ

I've got no idea why but I always had an obsession with Volkswagens. When I was little I had every make and model memorized. And my favorite was the Rabbit. Fire little thing, I wonder if you guys had a version of the Rabbit out there, maybe it was called something different.

When I was 10 I asked my parents to legally change my name to Volkswagen. To which they replied "No Dayle, we're not changing your name to Car of the People in German." Lol

Funny enough the first Volkswagen was the KDF wagon which stands for Strength Through Joy in German. Obviously, the circumstances around which the company got its start were pretty terrible, but I always identified with that phrase. Especially in later years when parents were splitting.

I cried many tears in that car, I blasted tunes, and drove with friends to the beach, and over the GWB into the city and got many speeding tickets in that car. It was my home when my house really didn't feel like one. I was devastated to see it go.

I hope there's another Volkswagen in our futures one day ;)

Goodmorning Love,
Welcome to Monday, I'm glad you're here
